Dr Stephanie Dropuljic joined the University of Exeter in September 2020 as a Lecturer in Law (Education and Research). Her research focuses on criminal law and the law of evidence, with a particular interest in their historical development. Stephanie's work explores the evolution of criminal law doctrines and changes in evidentiary rules. Her work is interdisciplinary and comparative in nature, drawing on legal historical methods, empirical, and feminist studies.

 

Stephanie has published on a range of topics including the role of women in raising criminal actions, electoral practices and governance in early modern Scotland, and on the classification of homicide.

 

She is the convenor of criminal evidence and teach criminal law. Stephanie is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). 

 

Prior to joining Exeter, Stephanie was a teaching assistant and completed her doctoral studies (as a receipiant of an Elphinstone Scholarship) at the University of Aberdeen. Her doctoral thesis reconstructed the procedural and administrative history of Scotland's justiciary court from 1580-1650 with special reference to actions for homicide. She holds an LLM by Research and an LLB (with commendation) from the University of Aberdeen. Prior to this, Stephanie completed her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a History Major and Geography Minor at Queen's University, Canada.
